Behavior of Square Footings Reinforced with Glass Fiber Bristles and Biaxial Geogrid

This study investigates the influence of biaxial geogrids on flexural behavior square footing foundations reinforced with glass fiber concrete (GFRC). Experimental research is conducted, involving testing five footings under area loading until failure. The variables considered are number geogrid layers and percentage longitudinal reinforcement. Various parameters including deflection, loads at each stage, stiffness, ductility, energy absorption, crack patterns, as well strains in steel, concrete, geogrid, analyzed compared. results reveal that incorporating a reinforcement technique GFRC significantly enhances improves cracking patterns. used substantially increases stage. Furthermore, an empirical equation developed to establish correlation between moment acting tensile strength evidence demonstrates substantial improvement resistance geogrid-reinforced GFRC, surpassing those steel normal mix. contributes valuable insights for design construction earth structures, highlighting advantages reinforcing enhanced performance.
